This unit, designed for third graders, meets geography, economics, and civics standards. Students will interact with Mercy in Kenya through learning about her and her country virtually. Students will collaborate to solve geography-based problems, participate in a market simulation by acting as either buyers or sellers, and design a project proposal to help support Mercy and other struggling students in Kenya as a final project.
